This week we have Virginia and the group in discussion is American Diabetes Association Inc. Some questions we have for this organization are:
Why did you take out a two PPP loan for a total of $10.2M when the organization has over $91M net assets? $20M jump in assets since getting the first PPP loan for $8M
CEO making $1M a year or $1.2M??
Your pension numbers are off? Executive team made over $400k in retirement
Who did you meet with in the government for $440k?
How has your organization brought in over $30M during the last 2 years of fundraising events and made exactly $0???
Tell us more about Stephanie Silverman, a board of directors, making $700k for government relations consulting?
Giving most of your grants to yourself American Diabetes Association Research Foundation Inc?
Tell us more about the American Diabetes Association Property Title Holding Corporation?
We reached out to the American Diabetes Association Inc in order to ask them about these alarming points we came across but they never responded for a comment.
In conclusion, the American Diabetes Association Inc should give the money back just like Fortune 500 companies did, but with a twist. Half going back to the government and the other half going back to Building Blocks for Kids. Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company can give back any revenue made (penalty should double that amount) for creating this loan. Not sure what the government will do with their half, yet BBFK knows exactly what we will do with our portion.
Building Blocks for Kids would get a total amount of $5,000,000. Here is how that breakdown of that money will look like:
$20,000 towards our website.
$4,980,000 for 166 classrooms in Virginia
Helping 166 teachers, over 4,000 students with financial literacy and career discovery education for a full year. To learn more about the BBFK: MORE Program visit: https://bbfkids.org/
