This holiday season, YOU are on our wishlist! This year, we’ve been working hard to bring the MORE Program to Animo Compton Charter School. Our goal is to raise $65,000 for three full classrooms to receive the program. Currently, we have fundraised $15k, and are looking to you to help us raise the rest!
Animo Compton is a recent Title I charter school for students from 6th-12th grade where 90% of students receive free/reduced lunch. Their oldest class of students will be entering the 10th grade next fall, and these sophomores will be able to experience our 2 semester MORE Program during the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2022.
The MORE Program is Building Blocks for Kids’ signature two semester financial literacy and career development program. We work to prepare students for their personal, and financial life after high school by teaching investing, credit, entrepreneurship and MORE. 50% of our program’s funds go directly into the hands of our students through scholarships, competitions, and gift cards; an additional 20% goes to our college interns, meaning 70% of your donation will directly support our country’s youth.
We are looking for these 100 people, companies, and organizations to donate money towards Animo Compton’s MORE Program. 100% of your donation will be used for Animo Compton.
We were inspired to fundraise this way after our founder, Anthony Dattilo, donated $500 that FaceBook matched on Giving Tuesday! At Building Blocks for Kids, we believe in the Ripple Effect -- that ONE small change can make an enormous difference. Here, every dollar donated will make a difference to the students, teachers, and community of Animo Compton.
