This week we have Kentucky and the group in question is Learning Grove. Some questions we have for them are:
Why did you take out a PPP loan for $2 million when the organization has over $5 million net assets?
Why did you think it was okay to request and take another $2 million of taxpayers money when you already receive government grants totaling over $3.6 million in 2019?
How did your company make over $3.8 million from “program service revenue”? Please elaborate on which services and who do you charge?
If you add Supplies for $865,073 and Miscellaneous for $264,517 you're right below 10% of expenses? Maybe you need to be more detailed on what these were?
Why have you spent over $11 million on lobbying and millions more on grassroots/nontaxable lobbying?
Maybe you should make money on your fundraising events and consulting?
We reached out to the Learning Grove in order to ask them about these alarming points we came across but they never responded for comment.
In conclusion, Learning Grove should give the money back just like Fortune 500 companies did, but with a twist. Half going back to the government and the other half going back to Building Blocks for Kids. The North Side Bank and Trust Company can give back any revenue made (penalty should double that amount) for creating this loan. Not sure what the government will do with their half, yet BBFK knows exactly what we will do with our portion.
Building Blocks for Kids would get a total amount of $1,000,000. Here is how that breakdown of that money will look like:
$10,000 towards our website.
$990,000 for 33 classrooms in Kentucky
